Voltage Optimisation

Voltage optimisation is simply explained as the reduction and stabilisation of the mains voltage supply and in doing so reducing energy consumption, reducing carbon emissions and significantly reducing costs.
The National Grid in the UK are required to provide their customers with a voltage between 207V and 253V. The average voltage across the UK is 242V, but levels can fluctuate significantly throughout the day, reaching close to 252V at some sites.
However, as the European standard has historically been 220V, most electrical equipment is designed to operate at maximum efficiency at this lower voltage. Therefore reducing the voltage supplied to electrical equipment to its optimum level saves energy, reduces maintenance costs and increases equipment lifespan.
There are numerous technologies on the market, which can, in one form or another, treat mains over voltage, however there is only one product that can provide the intelligence and flexibility in design and output voltage settings to maximise the savings potential.
That product is iVolt.
So why is iVolt so different and superior?
- Faster processing and sampling of the incoming voltage than any other product
- Provides stability (+/- 1.5%) in the output voltage
- Unique variable output voltage by phase providing complete site load flexibility
- Built to customer specification
- Can be provided with manual and automatic bypass unit
- 15 year warranty as standard
- Manufactured and assembled to the highest quality
- Proven track record
- Ability to generate up to 30% greater savings than fixed voltage optimisation products
- No moving parts
- Automatic failsafe features to ensure continuity of supply
- IRT Energy Monitor® for accurate savings measurement
- Carbon Trust approved technology
The iVolt® is a state of the art electronic voltage stabiliser. Taking measurements over 3,000 times per second, the iVolt® maximises energy savings by using unique microprocessor, thyristor and transformer technology to ensure that the output power to your facilities is stable and optimised for maximum energy saving.
iVolt® units are available for sites ranging from small retail units up to large industrial complexes, with an investment payback period of typically 2–3 years.
A solid state microprocessor-controlled device, the iVolt® is over 99.4% efficient at full load. The in-built patented IRT Energy Monitor® enables you to track your energy savings based on real-time data, without relying on assumptions and modeling.
